Carsten is 9 weeks old!

Well, the old adage is true....time really does fly!  We are really enjoying getting to watch Carsten grow.  Jayden is also fun to watch with him, he really likes being a big brother, especially now that he can make Carsten smile.

 Our little Red Wings fan.....the sad part about this cute outfit, it's a one and done.  Apparently we waited too long to get out all of the 3-6 month clothes!  The fact that 6 month clothes fit him, and some are already too small seems crazy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We were all feeling a bit festive for St. Patrick's Day.  We were also really lucky, we got to visit with Bob and Karen for a few hours.  Bob decided to celebrate part of his birthday in Grand Rapids with us.  It was a nice day!  

On Tuesday, Carsten had his 2 month check-up.  He is doing great!  He weighed 13 lbs 4 oz completely naked and is 23.5 inches long.  His weight was in the 74th percentile, height was 76th percentile, and head circumference was 78th percentile.  He was pretty much completely proportional.  The doctor was also really impressed with his strength...Carsten can hold his head up and steady for quite a long time, he can also stand on his own if you steady him.  Matt and I of course feel like he is growing wayyy too fast!

Jayden's Second Tooth!

Apparently teeth come out in twos.  Jayden's did anyways!  Less than a week after loosing his first tooth, Jayden lost his second tooth!  Matty had told Jayden to wiggle his tooth with his tongue...that it would get looser faster.  I guess Matty's technique worked!  Monday, 3/18/13, Jayden's second tooth came out at school.  It is the other bottom, middle tooth.  Jayden was pretty proud of his missing teeth!

Jayden came home from school on Tuesday, 3/12/13 and wanted to show us how loose his "wiggler" had become.  We both wiggled it and it was almost out.  Mom asked to feel it one more time and it came out in my fingers.  Jayden was very proud of his first lost tooth, and really excited about the money he got from the tooth fairy.  On Friday, we were in the car driving and Jayden was talking about his tooth again.  He asked me what would happen if his big tooth fell out.  I told him that he didn't want to loose the big ones, that they were permanent.  His next question..."well, how do we get the gold ones then?"  All I could do was laugh out loud!  Here's Jayden with his tooth in the ziploc bag, and of course the spot where it used to be :)

There is nothing like a few gummy baby smiles to start your morning off right!  Carsten was exactly 7 weeks old in these pictures.

New Bouncy Seat

Carsten got a new bouncy seat...he's a big fan of it!  He loves talking to his animal friends on the toy bar.
